Imperial : German 1871 Pattern (S 71) Bayonet with Bavarian-style Scabbard.
S71 brass-hilted sword-bayonet with brass-mounted scabbard with Bavarian style strap-loop rather than the more common frog-stud. Steel parts darkened with time but no rust, and the spring is in good working condition. Overall a nice example. The ricasso bears the makers mark 'Gebr.
