Pressed brass pin-back 'tinnie' marking 1000 years of the Rhineland being part of the Saar area. The area was much contested over between France and Germany. The Locarno Treaty of 1925 was aimed at trying to settle the border disputes.

Black leatherette presentation case for the Knights Cross 145mm x 80mm x 25mm. White silk padded interior lid lining with black flock-lined base fitted to take the cross with a recess to accommodate the neck-ribbon. A 22cm long piece of scarce silk neck-ribbon is included.. The case hinge is non-magnetic but the closing catch is magnetic.

This cavalry regiment can trace its history back to 1643 and was known as The Queen of the Cavalry (La Reine Cavalerie).
